LayerTune

About LayerTune

An independent site for people who 3D print. Calculators that answer the practical questions, and the print settings for the filament and printer you own.

What we do

Most 3D printing questions are really a number: what will this cost, how much filament is left, how hot, how long to dry, will it fit. Finding that number usually means digging through forum threads and PDFs. We collect the figures from manufacturer data sheets and spec pages, keep them in one database, and build simple tools on top.

What we do not do

  • We do not test hardware. Our printer comparisons use published specifications, and say so.
  • We do not invent numbers. If a manufacturer does not state a figure, the table says "not stated".
  • We do not hide disagreement. When two makers give different figures for the same material, you see both.

Who runs it

LayerTune is a small independent publisher based in the United Kingdom. It is not owned by, paid by or affiliated with any printer or filament manufacturer. Brand names appear only to identify products.

We use software, including AI tools, to help gather, check and write up data. Every figure is tied to a source you can open, and our editorial policy explains the checks in full.

How the site is funded

By advertising, and in future by affiliate links, which will always be labelled at the top of the page they appear on. Neither affects what the data says.

Photographs

The photographs on the site come from free stock libraries. Each photographer is named on the photo credits page.
