How it is calculated
grams per metre = π × (diameter ÷ 2)² × 100 cm × density weight = length × grams per metre length = weight ÷ grams per metre left on spool = (scale reading − empty spool weight) ÷ grams per metre
Filament is a cylinder, so the only inputs are its diameter and the density of the plastic. Density is where brands differ, which is why it is editable above.
